The objective of this research is to identify whether there a significant difference between using Think Pair Share and Note-Taking Pairs techniques toward students' writing ability in terms descriptive text at tenth grade SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro academic year 2013/2014. There are four hypotheses research, those are; (1) student's score the technique high seen by result post-test, (2) (3) term far (4) comparison post-test. subjects were grade. population was students Metro. researcher took two classes. first class X3 as experimental class. second X4 control samples 40 students. method investigation held through quantitative research. design True Experimental design. In experiment, applies Pre-Test Post-Test Control Group Design. uses cluster stratified random sampling sampling.
